The Advisory Board will be an informal group of experts bought together for their particular expertise, professional experience and their knowledge. They will advise and champion the company on both general and specific issues to further the organisation’s aims. The advisory board will have no legal responsibility but will play an integral role in the network.
Sussex Dance Network is an informal but constituted organisation with a Chair (currently Chris Taylor who is temporarily standing in for Antonia Grove), Secretary (Lisa Sang) a Treasurer (Alex Hagger).
The network is led by the Artistic Director (Katie Dale-Everett), the Marketing Coordinator (Emma Jane Evans) and Intergenerational Lead (Lisa Sang) – the management team.

Requirements of the Advisory Board
The Advisory Board will:
  1. Meet together as a group with the management team, Chair, Secretary and Treasurer four times a year.
  2. Attend the company’s Annual General Meeting.
  3. Be a part of Sussex Dance Network’s strategic planning and long-term thinking.
  4. Act as loyal advocates for Sussex Dance Network, its work and its network of artists.
  5. Support the organisation with all its fundraising efforts.
  6. Make themselves available on an occasional and impromptu basis for advice and discussion concerning pressing specific issues that they have expertise in.
  7. Help to keep the company on track with its agreed and stated aims in an advisory manner.
  8. Help to formulate, write and update company policies.
Advice offered by the Advisory Board will be welcomed, respected and appreciated but there will be no obligation to take the Board’s advice.

Suitable advisors will:
  • Have the skills to support Sussex Dance Network now and as it develops.
  • Have the time and energy to commit to engaging with and supporting our aims, missions and goals.
  • Be able to work well together with the management team.
  • Be based in Sussex.
