Class description:
Clea’s class gives participants permission to find their own unique ways of moving and to embrace being human in the dance space. The class will encounter a mixture of improvisation and set phrases, taking inspiration from release, Cunningham and jazz techniques. Participants are encouraged to find freedom and expansive movement within this physical class with a focus on musicality and individual expression.
Bio:
Clea trained on the dance course at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and went on to graduate from London Contemporary Dance School in 2020 with an MA in contemporary dance. During the 2018-19 season, Clea was an Apprentice dancer with Tanzkompanie Theater St Gallen, Switzerland, where she performed in works choreographed by Beate Vollack, Felix Landerer, Yuki Mori, and Josef Köpplinger. Further performances include dance theatre shows with Frankly Speaking Productions (The Snow Queen, 2020 & Tom’s Midnight Garden, 2021). Clea has created dance work in collaboration with Clio Lloyd-Jacob (Joint Passage, 2020),Instigate Unknown company (Building in Isolation, 2020-21), and Yun Cheng (Closer: 5 Portraits of Dancers, 2020). From June-December 2021, Clea was a Kickstart Dance Artist at South East Dance, where she created 2 dance installation pieces. Her teaching experience includes leading classes for the other Kickstart dance artists, teaching a weekly class for early years and assisting with the Boys’ Movement Classes at South East Dance.
