Class description:
Mathilde’s dance background is contemporary,
focussing on floor work and release
technique.
This class will be a journey through developing a partnership with the floor,
to progressively finding efficient ways into and out of the floor. The
variety of dynamics musically will be used as a tool to develop participant’s
individual ways of moving. Playing with the sense of risk and instinct
within an improvisation or a set phrase will also be explored during the class.
Bio:
Mathilde Navarro has a solid background in contemporary dance, as a student and as a participant in several collective projects, but also as a teacher and dance event’s organiser.
As a graduate of Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, she has worked with over twenty choreographers, stage directors, artists, and collectives such as Alleyne Dance, Jane McKernan, and Pascal Merighi. She is a truly versatile artist that is highly driven in her domain.
She is currently undertaking a master’s degree in International Event Management as well as being a member of Doppelgänger collective in Geneva, which includes performing multidisciplinary cultural projects. Her career has taken her from Switzerland to the United Kingdom, via Sweden and Brussels, amongst others.
