We are opening applications to take part in the Dance Trail 2020!

To apply you do not have to be an established choreographer or artist  – the Dance Trail is often a great place for people to try out new and unexplored ideas! Each work must be between 5-10 minutes long and can be made as a solo, for a duet or for a group.

The Dance Trail takes place outdoors and most dance locations will be outside, so please take that into consideration. However, this year we are offering the opportunity for a member of the public to help decide on the location and theme of the Trail through our Crowdfunder – so as of yet those details are not confirmed. If you have an idea of where in Brighton you would find interesting to work with, then please do add that to your application.

This event is run by volunteers and the artists are not paid, but festival entry fees are paid by the Network. If we are successful with our funding campaign, we will be offering a £150 bursary to each group/choreographer to enable them to spend more time working on their ideas. This bursary must be used in the first few weeks of January, and the application form requires you to detail how you would use it.

Our Network exists to support our members’ interests and taking part in the Dance Trail is your chance to create the dance you want to see on our streets! If you do not want to participate, you can help us to champion artistic individuality by donating to the fundraiser and sharing the campaign on your social media!
