Professional Class_ Aneta Zwierzynska

Monday 18 July, 2022 @ 7:05pm – 8:20pm – Class description: Aneta’s classes are partly a culmination of 16 years worth of research into exchanging ideas between capoeira and contemporary dance, specifically the dynamic release technique and floor work. These organic forms of movement have at their center a focus on nature, creativity, and improvisation, as well as an emphasis on spiral dynamics and the connection between body, mind and spirit. In these classes we will investigate ways to incorporate the total physical awareness necessary  in  capoeira, whose roots partly lie in the art of fighting, into the more meditative world of release technique. Through capoeira, I hope to open more opportunities for self-expression within the medium of contemporary dance — using the quality and philosophy behind the movements as inspiration, without direct imitation. This poetic playfulness and animalistic physicality will provide a new and exciting dimension for dancers alike to explore. Bio: Aneta is a professional dancer, capoeira teacher and choreographer. She obtained a double MA degree at Anton Bruckner University in Austria studying movement research and dance pedagogy. She has trained and worked extensively in Brazil, Poland, Austria, Greece and the UK. She carried out her movement research in Brazil, exploring possibilities to exchange experience between contemporary dance and capoeira. Aneta performed with various dance companies and theaters in Europe and Brazil. She is currently working as a dancer/performer for Beatrice Allegranti Dance Company.  She teaches her unique combination of contemporary dance and capoeira in regular classes and workshops in the UK […]
