A note from the Artist
Squashed came into being after I spent a week in a friend’s empty flat in Eastbourne. I would work all day and then go out to swim and walk for the rest of the evening. I fell in love with so many areas of the town, and the film takes places where the promenade runs out the rocks begin. I love how the light changes so much near the sea and that nothing is ever still there. One thing I like about the film, is that all the different weathers seemed to exist within a space that is fact quite still and grey. It reminds me of the strange dis-quietude of the last six months.
